Abstrakt
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a major global health threat, causing acute and chronic liver disease, leading cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma, with nearly one million deaths each year. Over 250 million people worldwide remain dependenton lifelong treatment with HBV polymerase inhibitors, as pegylated interferon interferon-α (PEGPEG-IFN α) benefits only a minority of patients.
